Sadly, I’ve always been a better lesson learner after having been whacked by a cosmic two-by-four. A recent health scare prompted me to hit my personal “pause button,” focus, and rethink where I’m headed in this second act of life for me.
It’s time to get clear on getting focused!

Hi Jane,
I hope that much is coming into focus for you.
It recently has for me.
Cheers,
David
David,
I’m sorting through the options where I want to take my “second act.” Hope that the clarity you’ve gathered is taking you where you want to go!
Jane
Focus is the biggest need as our world gets more and more complex. Dan Goleman’s sure talking about it too. My fav here is the Warren Buffet one. ‘hope the health scare is over, Jane. 🙂
So agree with Warren *smile* and you, Liz, that getting comfy saying “no” is a must do for focus and a gazillion other things. Appreciate your kind words about the health scare…it’s behind me but a lifetime of taking better care of myself is in front of me!
Jane, thanks! I needed this too!! Maybe that’s why I feel so comfortable with you in the writer’s group – your willingness to see and appreciate so much of the world beyond your particular interests. But you’re right, it can be distracting. I don’t agree with the Og Mandano quote, but I really do like Thoreau. Simplify, simplify!!
JoAnne, the Mandino quote sure gave me some serious food for thought. If I take his words literally, life seems so narrow and that’s no fun. Yet if I factor in passion and persistence…well, those are givens for successful change. Love how we can bat ideas around!
