What a great message, and good advice. Western culture is so stoic. I was trained to never reveal anything personal, but I eventually learned that it is debilitating. Vulnerability is viewed as a weakness, but it is really a strength and can be so powerful. It’s connects us as human beings to be vulnerable with each other. Thanks for putting this important message into the world.

Joie – sounds like there’s a wonderful story of discovery in your learnings about sharing what’s personal! If you’d like to share it here, just let me know. You’re right that being the tough cookie all the time creates separation rather than connection. Thanks much for sharing.
Being vulnerable ironically has the OPPOSITE effect you’d think on others…it makes them LIKE you more and feel your STRENGTH in being so confident you can express that vulnerability!
